She is a Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry. She received a BSc and PhD in Chemistry from University of Oviedo where she become interested in electroanalysis. She was a postdoc fellow at Cornell University (NY, USA) under H.D. Abruña. She returned to Spain to start working in DNA-based electrochemical biosensors and bioassays for food, environmental and clinical analysis with a Clarin Contract and then a Ramón y Cajal Contract. She was the recipient of the San Alberto Magno Award 2001 and has a strong background in electroanalysis and SPR devices.
